Life Lessons

Yesterday I took the boys to Walmart, not my favorite place, but we had a few items that are just best gotten there.  The boys took some of their allowance money, and after what seemed like an eternity, they decided on a color changing hotwheel car.  Well as it always is on packaging, the car is changing from green to blue and Aiden thought that his would do that as well as orange the color the car was.  Well we get home and of course it only goes from orange to white and back again and he was crushed!

Isn't that the way the world operates?  It shows us this really cool, great thing, and convinces us that we NEED it, and that thing turns out to be totally disappointing.  The grass looks really green on this side of the fence, but you get to it, and it turns out to be all weeds?

It made me think of our Savior, He never disappoints, He never is one thing one day and changes the next.  He is the Same, Yesterday, Today, and Forever (Heb 13:8)!  What you see is what you get, He came, He saved, and He waits for us in Heaven.  What a wonderful thought, as we live our lives in this ever changing and disappointing world, that our Rock and Foundation will never change and always stay the same.
