So I have contemplated doing a blog for a while now, and finally decided to pull the trigger. My goals for this are mainly to get my creative juices flowing. But secondly to share my experiences as a wife and mommie, and a homeschool teacher.
I suppose I'll start with a little about me. I was born in the DC area on January 1st, I was the first child to my parents Dez and Tom Hendrickson. My dad was finishing up a degree, and would soon take a job in the Dallas/Ft. Worth. We moved to Texas before I turned two, and when I was nearly four my parents had my brother Eric. We moved to a house in South Arlington, just before I started school, to be closer to Burton Adventist Academy the school I went to, through third grade. This move is a God ordained one, as I would soon meet my wonderful husband, who lived across the street. With Forth grade came a switch to public schools, Fitzgerald, then Workman and Barnett for Jr. High, and Bowie for High School.
I am thankful to have had wonderful Godly parents, who shared their love of Christ with Eric and I. So when my Dad (Tom) was killed in a car accident when I was 14, it shook my life but God held on tight. My mom gathered Eric and I together that night and said we could do this with God or without, and that day I chose to do life with Him, for myself. God has continued to work in my life, molding me as a wife and mother, friend and daughter. Hopefully through this you will see Him continuing His work in me.
When I was 18, my sweet neighbor and best friend, became my husband and Sam and I will celebrate 12 years together on June 20th. We've had great times, and good times, and just a little bit of bad. But God works on us individually and collectively, and He is faithful.
We have two sweet boys, Aiden is 7 (birthday June 9) and Ethan is 5 (birthday Sept. 10). Like I said we homeschool them, and I enjoy most every minute of it.
And so that's me in a nutshell. I'll save the rest for another post.
