How we have gotten from the first to the second picture I have no idea. He started his life with a bang and continues to add spice, mess, action, love, generosity, cuddles, passion, hope, thoughtfulness, and excitement to our lives.
These last ten years have been a whirlwind of moves, school, playgroups, friends, births, deaths, marriages, loves, hurts, and much more. He rolls with the punches better than any person I know.
Last year his birthday was interrupted by the addition of this guy
So they share a 'gotcha' day. Ethan was the first to bond with D now M, before even Sam or I, he never felt overshadowed by the new addition or not loved by our divided attention. I see that as proof not only of his generous spirit but also the love he allows to pour from him, evidences that his God is living and active in him.
Happy Birthday Big Mr. E, E-way, E-man! You are a blessing and a reminder of how I need to be more generous, loving, fun, and full of passion and hope.
