No I don't think excitingness is a real word, but I'm not exactly know for being a rule follower, and that includes grammar!
Our lives have been busy since Feb, with adoption classes (which finished in March), a ski trip, DH's various trips to far away lands ;-), both boys playing baseball, and looking for a home, and of course our daily lives of school, BSF, errands, cleaning, cooking, etc. We've also been anxiously awaiting new members of our family to be born.
First on the adoption front: we've been in kind of a holding pattern since March, waiting for the agency to go through our paperwork and decide if we were fit to adopt. They had some concerns about my grief with Eric, with it being so recent, but I suppose they decided I could offer more to the child than my grief would take away. I have been talking with multiple people from our agency this week, as they combed through all the paperwork, and received the call yesterday that everything has checked out, and we are licensed!!! It will be totally official as of tomorrow or Monday as our info has to be put in the system by the local government agency, and we all know how quick they are! So as we enter the summer, we are hopefull they will quickly find a child or children that fit into our crazy, wild, loud, ridiculous family!
Second, on the home searching front, we put a bid on a house today! It's another old house, not to dissimilar from our home up 'in the frozen north'. It is on almost 1/4 acre, and has a pool, with a terrific outdoor space. The present owners are the originals, and they haven't really done anything on the house since they bought it in 1969, so we'll have our work cut out for us, but I think we're up for it. DH is, and I think I am ;-)..... Here are the picts for now, I will take some more of the inside next time.
Thirdly I am very proud to announce my newest nephew was born yesterday and is wonderful and healthy. His momma had her work cut out for her, because he's a stubborn Sparks boy, but he's here and perfect, as all Sparks boys are! We can't wait to meet him, it was so hard for me to be so close and yet not there, but I was so thankful my sis Audrey, functioning as her doula was there, and I knew Kate was in good hands. And not just with Audrey, but also in the Lord's as they prayed over the labor and delivery and delivery multiple times, God is good and although labor was hard it didn't end in surgery!
Baseball is going well, we're almost done with the season, and though it's been fun, I'm ready for summer! School is almost finished, and I'm so happy about that, this year has been so hard, with so much change, but God is faithful and has given me strength to finish this year strong, yay!
Summer is coming, and since we live here, you could argue it's here already, and we have high hopes for what the next few months bring. Hopefully it will bring the last move in a series of moves that took us almost 1000 miles, multiple jobs, loss of a brother, fear of the future, new births and the expectation of my sis to have one soon, expectation of adoption, getting older, and wiser, and loving better, becoming the child of God that I was meant to be, having my faith rebuilt, filling my heart not with grief or another human, but with God, rebuilding/restoring/making relationships with my family.
In the fall we experienced death, not only of leaves and of a life but of hopes and dreams. We endured the winter as God rebuilt our hopes, dreams, and so much more. We budded in the spring as God turned our broken limbs into something only He can rebuild. And we look forward to summer because my God has defeated death, and therefore can defeat my grief, worry and fear. His death on the cross has cleansed me of my sins, and He's taking the death I've dealt with and turning it into something glorious, not my glory, but His.
See you by the pool
